Creek Stomping
Creek Stomping is an integral part of all our Camp Andrew activities. Creek stomping is a way to allow kids to spend some great time playing around the creek the old-fashioned way while getting a chance to be close to nature. Nature is a creation of our beloved God and the more time kids and youth spend surrounded by it, the closer it will take them to God. If you are in Bristol, VA or the surrounding towns or cities, creek stomping should be a must-have activity in your child’s summer camp routine.
Fun Time for Kids
Creek stomping is as simple as the activity’s name suggests. Pack up your kid’s interior sloppy clothes and shoes with great grip and spend time in the creek. At Camp Andrew, kids will engage in activities such as:
- Stomping through the water
- Trying to catch frogs
- Flipping over rocks
We included creek stomping into our campsite program because it is a blissful activity that allows kids and youth to unplug, slow down, and connect better with nature.
Stomping is also an excellent way to release pent-up emotions and stress. And these benefits can also extend over to parents who will be spending time with their kids. We have a beautiful creek on our property and kids can spend their time enjoying nature and the company of like-minded friends. We have also created a list of the spots children can embark on.
Creek Stomping Activities
After a rain, almost the entire creek becomes a great place for children to stomp around. Our creek stomping camps are organized in groups so that every child will have company. The activity also allows kids to embark on an off-the-beaten-path journey. This means a greater degree of adventure and enjoying the thrill of finding the best spots.
Many of our favorite spots to stomp are off the trails and bike paths. Some of the spots are sidelined by gravel paths that provide easy access to the creek.
Another thing that makes the creek stomping interesting is that there will always be some creatures down the paths. Kids can expect to find toads, tiny fish, and salamanders. Every time it rains, there will be plenty of water to splash around everywhere in the creek.

We at Camp Andrew strongly believe that every kid needs a place where they are valued and loved. Our camp is a place where your child will feel great while experiencing the grace and love of God. This is a place where they will spend time close to nature and God’s people. They will also be learning the Bible as part of our program.
