Arts & Crafts
Traditional summer camps for kids often involve so much. From campfire cooking to sing-along songs to walking in the woods to canoeing and more, your kids can engage in so much more. Kids and youth also need their little quiet time, something they can go through sitting together. At Camp Andrew, we offer many arts and crafts activities that keep your little ones busy, while also encouraging discovery about the outdoors. If you are in Bristol, VA or the surrounding areas, our camping programs will help engage your child in various activities that focus on spreading the love of God.
Creativity Meets Gods Love
At Camp Andrew, our arts and crafts camping activities have been designed to enrich your kid’s life through books, music, arts, and mostly crafts. Creativity helps boost self-esteem and promotes a strong sense of well-being. Through arts and crafts, our children and youth learn:
- Family appreciation
- Life lessons in manners
- The love of God
And much more. Our camping program and site provide a safe, fun, and wholesome place for children to use their imagination and be creative.
At our camp, your child will explore activities, ideas, coloring pages, and crafts that they can have all the fun with. They will learn:
- Making cool crafts with recycled materials
- Making beads
- Creating critters from natural materials
- Mixing up cave paint
And more.
Keeping It Simple
God loves simplicity in everything and oftentimes, it is the simplest of ideas that inspire hours of play. Something as simple as twigs found at our campsite can be used to create characters from imagination using:
- Bits of ribbon & yarn
- Bright colored paints
- Markers
- Wiggly eyes
Pebbles can be used to create a labyrinth or go collecting fallen leaves to create figures from their imagination. Often it takes a few suggestions for children to come up with their own unique ideas. Amid all this, we ensure that they fully understand how important it is to respect nature, not harm the habitats, remove any living creature, or kill anything. Apart from our Bible time classes, our kids and youth learn about God and love Him throughout the sessions.
Leaf & Bark Impressions
One of the popular arts and crafts activities at our camp is the creation of leaf impressions. Kids can bring along light-sensitive paper and use sunlight to create leaf impressions that can be framed when they return home. It is also a great way to learn about God’s gift of heat and energy from the sun. Our participants can also learn to make imprints of natural items such as shells, leaves, pine cones, and bark.
God’s Love in Every Activity
At Camp Andrew, we are driven by the goal to help kids and youth know more about God and to love him. All our participants will hear His Word at our camp and many will train and become youth leaders for our churches.
